Pushy Work Dude (9-30) - A love note

Dear Pushy Work Dude:

I get it, you have work to do - twice a year - you rely on one of my reports to help you obtain figures for something. Seriously, I'm with you - I know you need these things - HOWEVER:

My reports are done monthly, as you very well know - I cannot give you Septembers REPORT until SEPTEMBER IS OVER. Further more - I cannot give you the September Report until OTHER departments send my their FINAL figures for SEPTEMBER. My reports are usually released between the 7th and the 14th of the month. is because of the above reasons and that my supervisor likes to look over my AWESOME reports - and remember why it is she hired me. This takes a great deal of time, because, let's be honest, I am just THAT awesome.

I understand that I may have sent your psyche into overdrive when I told you there was a chance that the reports would not be published before I left the building for my MARRIAGE LEAVE - and now you feel the need to beg and plead for me to BULLY my boss into NOT taking 4-5 days to look at my report.

This is not happening.
I can give you a couple basic figures that are unchanged from last month - thus far, that is - however, I am unable to give you all the figures you NEED.

Do not call me again - and make it seem like the entire organization will shut down - if you do not have these figures before the 14th. stop stressing me out.

I get it, you don't care that I'm getting married in 5 days - you care even less how much your DAILY phone call makes my stomach TURN and CLENCH.

Here's the deal bucko - you are not my boss - and honestly, you are unimportant to me. You are not the most IMPORTANT person in the building - and HONESTLY - I know my boss, when she hears about this, because OH MAN SHE IS GOING TO HEAR ABOUT THIS BULLSHIT, is going to tell me that YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL I GET BACK. Because there is no way shape or form that she is going to rush MY reports - because she loves reading my awesomeness THAT much - over HER REAL WORK.

I know this, and I keep trying to tell you. But you don't seem to hear me.

ALSO: You talking over me - when I am attempting to explain you the process - ISN'T SCORING YOU ANY FRICKING BROWNIE POINTS WITH ME.

I will talk to you like I talk to my 7-year old until you stop yammering about your nonsense. here's the deal - I know the figures you need now - And I will do my best to get you what I can before I leave - but, I pretty much guaran-freaking-tee that your boss is going to come to you and tell you to CALM THE HECK DOWN.

So - please - eat a bagel - put some cream cheese on that - Pumpkin Spice Latte too - CHILL OUT.

Truly Yours,

This morning, for breakfast, I had fantastic overnight oats - I have this smaller jam mason jar - and it's the perfect single serving size.
I used:
Quick Oats (trying to get rid of them)
Dried Cherries (a palm full)
Pumpkin Spice & Cinammon
Almond Coconut Milk (to cover everything)

It came out pretty delic - and it was just sweet enough without adding any extra sweetener! SCORE! night was an epic race to beat the clock - or at least that is how it felt. Emry had soccer practice at 530p - so I had to pick him up at school, get him changed, then race over to the soccer field. We did our spelling homework in the car and then he had an hour of practice. After that - we had to race over to David's Bridals in order to drop my dress off to get steamed. And then I tried to see if they had fancy flip flops for my ladies - but alas - Size 5/6 and Size 7/8 flip flops are a hot commodity. I must find them elsewhere. we got home it was 730'ish - Emry did his math and writing worksheets - then he hopped in the shower - then we studied for our Science test about weather - then Klay made him dinner - while I ran to the drug store to pick up some antacid for my belly. When I got home, Emry had already made it in bed - I put my vitamins together, packed my breakfast, lunch and snack - Cut up all the red peppers for easy snacking options and then I took a shower - drank a lot of water and BEGGED Klay to rub my spasming shoulders - Then bed.

I felt like I was in a race. To finish - ALL THE THINGS - before I dropped.

And to be honest, I forgot some.
And had to do them first thing this morning.

SIGHS - this week is already proving to be hectic - to say the least.

I am now at my desk - trying to get all my reports together to submit to my boss during our weekly meeting, and trying to find my "professional" words, so I can explain to her about the above "work dude".

So that's it for now!

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Recap (9-29)

Well - it seems this weekend just FLEW by. It seems I was only leaving my desk at work a moment ago. night - I pick Emry up from school and we had to fly across town to the wedding photographers office - Had to give him the final payment for the wedding - you know, the one that is 6 days away. (AHHHHHHH!) Totally feel like I'm just throwing money at EVERYONE.

Then we drove home, I cleaned the bathroom and made dinner for this week. Dinner for the week is Spaghetti (white pasta) and Sauce (that I had made and frozen weeks ago); don't judge, I will be having salad with chicken ALL WEEK - I just didn't want to subject the men to another week of Salad and Chicken - Been a little busy, and very UNCREATIVE in the COOKING department. Hmmmm... wonder why that is? Baffles the mind, it does. that, once Emry was in bed, Klay, Dad, Anne (dad's gf) and I all cozied up on the couch to watch the PBS special of Sweeny Todd. Which was EPIC! Emma Thompson played the role of Misses Lovett. I enjoyed it GREATLY! It was a concert style performance, in which the cast worked around the orchestra. Very cool.

Saturday - Klay, Emry and I were up at 645a - because we had to drop my car off at the mechanic before getting ready for Soccer. UGH - let me just say - a huge mechanic bill, right before a wedding - kind of really takes the wind out of your sales. $541.82 - yup that was my mechanic bill. New brakes, pads, oil change, spark plugs, fuel injection system flush - YEAH tons of fun. But, it had to get done, and I was about a MONTH overdue for all of this. SO - yeah, couldn't really skip it.

Soccer was meh. The ref was not calling a lot of the penalties - or out of bounds. The other team had this one BRUTE of a boy who kept chest checking our players, and the other players were very FOOT friendly - getting their feet in between and tripping our players. These kids are between the ages of 7 & 9 - WHAT THE HECK? Then they had ONE player - who would pretend to get tripped and THROW himself to the ground - when NO ONE was around him. They got to penalty kicks for that - DROVE ME NUTS.  We lost 3-2, but that's only because the ref allowed a goal that was preceded by a HAND BALL. The player slapped the ball to the ground and then kicked it in the goal. Our goalie saw it - screamed handball - and the ref NEVER called it. **SIGHS** They had to lose once.. Right? Emry was able to play 3 out of the 4 quarters - and finally got to be in the attacker position. This really boosted his self esteem - since he didn't feel like he was good enough to be one of the "scoring" players.

After soccer - we went home, and I got my WEDDING CRAFTING ON. I built all of the centerpieces - glitter painted votive holders - stained a piece of wood (that was needed for a missing centerpiece aspect) - spray painted the candle holder for the "newlywed" table. And - and - and - I'm sure I'm forgetting things - but, I basically turned my office upside down, and made sure everything I needed was in the center of the room. So when Saturday comes, all I have to do is LOAD it in the car.

We did have to run to Hobby Lobby - to pick up more twigs for the centerpieces - and some fall decor for home (shhhh - I couldn't help myself - they have such COOL stuff!). While we were out, I managed to get Klay a tie for his Rehearsal Outfit, Emry an OUTFIT for the rehearsal and we stopped for Linner at Denny's. I am not a big fan of Denny's, however, it is right next to the mechanic - and Emry loves it. And, honestly, it's really cheap.

I picked up my car - went home, finished up the twigs on the larger centerpieces - and called it a night. I don't really remember what we did that night - I know there was some loafing on the couch - and I know there was some sleeping on the couch. Other than that - complete blur. But I did get to see this beautiful piece of fall - right in my backyard - Such amazing colors on this tree! - I was up pretty early doing laundry - and attempting to label all the things in the office. Which things went to which table - What things needed to be in the bridesmaid suite for the day of, as well as the groomsmen suite. As I was doing that, in my pajamas, barefoot, sitting on the ground - A SPIDER - a RED SPIDER - A HUGE RED SPIDER - crawls out from under my desk - walks towards me a little - and then retreats back under the desk. I was up like a bolt - ran upstairs - got a shoe - and went looking. I COULDN'T FIND THE SUCKER! ACHK! So I clearly couldn't sit on the floor anymore and do this. AND I COULDN'T BY ALL MEANS BE BAREFOOT WITH MY PAJAMA PANTS DRAGGING ON THE GROUND. This thing could crawl up and EAT ME. So - by 7a, I am fully dressed, with sneakers on - in the office.

Still, I was freaked out - so I opted to go upstairs, and load all of the seating cards into the cork holders. Klay, Emry and my Father helped - and we were done fairly quickly. I brought that downstairs - to the office of doom - and THERE HE WAS. JUST RIGHT ON THE FLOOR. So, I squashed the red spider of DOOM and DESTRUCTION.... and flushed him (just as a precaution of zombie regeneration).

I back to working on the floor - labeling - getting things all done - Lissa came over to see my progress and to tell me what she thought of all of it. We talked for a bit, about an interesting dramatic thing that I had found out the night prior (more on that later). When she had gone, Emry got dressed and we ran to the bank in order to use their coin machine - so Emry could lighten up his piggy bank. After that, I stopped by Payless, and I picked up some very cute silver glitter ballet flats, for the rehearsal dinner dress. Emry was starving for lunch by this point - so we went to Chipotle for lunch. He LOVES Chipotle - honestly, he's a big TACO kid. Can't blame him - tacos are AWESOME. we were home, I started work on the flower girl basket. I had received a free flower girl basket - and it was very lovely and very generic. I didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, so I just had to mod it a little bit - and stupid me - I forgot to take a picture of it. The base basket sort of looked like this:

So I had to take off the ribbon, and there was one rose bow section in the front. Once those were off, I measured the circumference of the basket, and then found the appropriate length of burlap - which I have an abundance of (rustic wedding problems) - and sewed that around the basket. Already this thing looked TEN times better. Once it was secure, I sewed the rose bow section back on - and then in the middle of the beautiful burlap ribbon I glued these paper roses (brown and kind of tan colored) around the basket. It came out perfect. I'll have to take a picture of it.
Once that was done - I was basically done - Which was a HUGE surprise. Klay and Emry were building with Legos and watching Food network - so I went upstairs - balanced our check books (OUCH - at the moment) and proceeded to look at the school Fundraiser while watching the Great Expectations movie, with Ethan Hawke. LOVE that movie.

I vacuumed the house, straightened up the kitchen - and then there was dinner, bath and bed for all.

All in all a busy weekend - but very rewarding!

How was your weekend?
Do anything fun?

Completing my detox - really hands down - the favorite moment of my week. My body is finally feeling at ease - I'm not feeling bloated or filled to the brim - my skin is looking better, and my body is less achy. AMEN to THAT!

FAVORITE SONGAll About That Bass - Meghan Trainor

I don't know what it is about this song - I just can't get enough - The truth of the matter is, I hear it usually during my commute home from work - I crank the radio up - and I break it down in the car. I go DIVA OUT - I know you do it too.

Finding this "love note" in my Vitamin Bag - really made my day. Klay does this every once in a while. He'll leave a scrap of paper between the pages of a book I am reading - in my wallet - somewhere, that I will notice it EVENTUALLY. It always makes me smile. And it makes me feel very lucky to have such a wonderful man.

Delicious Gooey Monster Cookies!! Perfect for Halloween! { }

Gooey Monster Eye Cookies - aren't these the cutest and weirdest things you've ever seen? And also - how easy do they look to make? I mean, I can't wait to try these suckers!!!

Butter With a Side of Bread: Caramel Apple Nachos

Caramel Apple Nachos Um, Yes? I can't wait to try this also - I'm thinking of adding peanut butter sauce as well.

classroom party treat ideas

Classroom Treats That Make Me Look Like An Awesome Mom - this needs no further explanation. Emry loves when I make cool things for his class - and honestly, last year, no other mother did such a thing - and I know the kids LOVE IT! And most of these are super easy.

This had to be during leg day (yesterday) - I did some back squats with 50 pounds. I managed to do 5 sets with 10 repetitions. The feeling I get when I lift is amazing - it is SO gratifying. I don't know where I will go with it - or if I want to go heavier - but, it is definitely an enjoyable moment of any workout.

That's it for me!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you Monday!

Thursday - YUMGASMIC!

Hello Friends!

This morning, is the first day back from my detox - and I wanted to start on a good foot. SO, I decided to make a HEALTHY pumpkin pie smoothie!

This recipe will make 2 LARGE servings.

1 can pumpkin puree
2 cups Almond/Coconut Milk (or your preference)
5 whole Pitted Dates
Honey to Taste (I used 2 teaspoons)
Pumpkin Pie Spice to Taste (I used 3 teaspoons)

Nutritional Information (Based on my portions) Per Serving:
Calories: 213.5
Fat: 3.5 grams
Protein: 5 grams

Serve over ice.
Sip And LOVE the season!

Ok - moving on from my love of autumn.. and this tasty smoothie.

Today is a rainy Thursday - but, I got a pretty kick butt workout in today.

My goal is to do workouts that push me - but do not burn me out. For a long time, I would put my ALL into a run - and recently I've been burning myself out after 2-3 days. And I would run only half of that. SO basically, Monday and Wednesday would be EPIC runs - and Tuesday would be a strength day. But, by Thursday - I was completely out of commission. And my legs would ache. SO - I had to swap it up.

This week - I've been doing a lot of walking. Monday and Tuesday - I did walks on the treadmill.

Monday was a Fat Burn Zone Workout - in which I had to keep my heart rate under 129... but to do that, the elevation would increase and decrease to regulate my heart rate. An hour later, I was covered in sweat - had walked 3.5 miles - and was completely amped for my 30 minute Ab workout.

Tuesday was a Cardio Zone Workout - in which I had to keep my heart rate under 153... the elevation would increase and decrease to maintain homeostasis. An hour later, I was POURING with sweat - had walked 4 miles - and did an amazing 30 minute Arm/Shoulder Workout.

Yesterday, if you read - I had some "visitors" at the fitness room at my office...  so a half hour into my Fat Burn Walk - I upped the speed to 6.5 miles an hour - and ran hard until the sheer loudness of the treadmill sent them packing - in total, I did 4.76 miles - and I coupled that with 30 minutes of Abs.

This morning, my legs were kind of achey - But, not to the point where I couldn't get up.. so I got my butt back into the gym - I started off with a Hill Walk - intensity turned all the way up - and proceeded to walk 3 miles in 45 minutes - I was feeling spunky (and obviously stupid) - so, I then amped the speed all the way up - and I ran 1.71 extra miles in 15 minutes - Total for the hour 4.71 miles. I had gotten into the gym a little late, so I only had time for 20 minutes of Leg day. Maybe I will do some more tonight? Maybe not. hahaha

But - I am really starting to feel in control of my workouts (and body) again. The detox did wonders - and me not being a complete moron and trying to run 6-7 miles 4 days a week - I feel great.
I know my running isn't up to snuff - or where I want it to be - but, unless I listen to my body now, I will never be able to achieve my running goals in the future.

10 days and counting until the wedding.

The minister came for a meeting at our house last night, and he is thinking of working Emry into the ceremony. I'm sure Emry will just LOVE that. :)

AND - now - I have to get back to work - because ASS HAT has questions about my revisions.. Stupid Proof Reading - It's OVER. BACK OFF AND GO AWAY.
Pray for my SANITY.

Happy Thursday!

Vodka and Soda
I also, ususally link up with Vodka and Soda... I found her through the Hump Day Blog Hop over at the Fitness Blondie! However, the websense at my job has dictated her BANNED, and the reason being SEX. So, I add my link to her blog via my phone... I'm sneaky like that! Vodka and Soda was an instant "I MUST ADD THIS BLOG TO MY FEED"... I recommend you heading over and linking up with her too.. as long as your work firewall allows you too (stupid job).
So without further ado..

My Confessions
I am done with the epic, soul-sucking, proof reading project from hell. I, happily, finished this project at 11:32a.m. today, and upon being finished - I had to tell the world. SO, I totally moon walked, running man-ed, Jumped On it-ed, DOWN the office hallway saying "I'm done, I'm done I'm done". I confess that this does not bother me. I also confess that I do not give a rat's ass who I bothered while doing so.

I confess that I covered my bases 100000% on this project, and made sure that the information that I corrected, was documented in a spreadsheet, and that attachment was sent to the ass hat, who gave me the project, and my supervisor, just so she can she what I actually did. Sorry, not sorry - Someone needs to realize how many mistakes Ass hat made. Just saying.

I have been itching to read all of your blogs - and I am a week behind - so expect me to be catching up - Blogging is my drug. Not lying - It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I confess that I only ran once this week, and that was today - but, I have been doing zone training based on my heart rate - but, that's only been walking (briskly - mind you). I have also thrown in a Strength Focus every day as well.

I confess, that I prefer working out at the work fitness room - ALONE. Today, these two women came in, at 6am mind you (WHY WERE THEY EVEN AWAKE?) and decided they were going to just YELL to each other from across the room. Not cool bitches. SO, instead of a zone heart rate walk - I ran - I turned that treadmill all the way up to 6.5 mph - and ran long enough until they left. Loud Treadmill getting in the way of your conversation? Oh, I'm sorry ladies - I thought the fitness room was for exercising - not fat ass conversations. Once again, I have a lot of angst from not writing for a week - so I may be a little strong handed on this one.
Emry broke out with this awful RASH yesterday - The nurse called me, and was unsure if it was his eczema. For two reasons, she knows that he normally gets it on his legs - and this was his back. AND it didn't look like the rash he has gotten on his legs. Klay ran to the school - looked at it, and texted me a picture - OH MY GOODNESS FRIENDS - His back was covered and the rash was REALLY REALLY BAD. So, Klay rushed him to the Urgent Care, who looked at him for half a minute - said it was idiopathic - and sent him on his way. I got his Primary Care on the phone, and basically said "I don't care if you have to charge me FULL COST for the visit - I know it's seeing a doctor the same day for the same issue - THIS IS BAD - Please help. She waved him in - no charge - and we got some predisolone for the inflammation - and said that it appeared to be an allergic reaction to something. IDIOPATHIC MY ASS URGENT CARE - I'LL GIVE YOU AN IDIOPATHIC BRUISE ON YOUR EYE - NO IDEA HOW IT GOT THERE! Morons.
My wedding is in 11 days. That's right - 11.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I may have sweet talked my hair stylist into coming with me to the beauty supply store, just to pick the right hair extensions for my big day. By sweet talk - I mean BEGGED.
This Friday - I have to right a bunch of people checks for my WEDDING ...... EEEEEEE... And I am slowly having an OCD - MONEY DISAPPEARING - FREAK OUT MOMENT. Need a paper bag. Can't catch my breath. **GASP** Just kidding - but, I'm glad we are so frugal with our money - because a LOT of it is getting spent on Friday.
I confess that I have put off an oil change, getting my brake pads, and spark plugs replaced - for over a month - I guess I should get to that this weekend. Great, another bill - SIGHS - Why can't the days before my wedding be free - LIKE free food, free car maintenance - free gas... you know... FREE EVERYTHING BECAUSE I AM A BRIDE-to-BE!
I just finished a detox experiment - and am honestly feeling INCREDIBLE. Not as bloathed as before - less BINGEY - need to eat everything in sight. So, that's just wonderful. Tomorrow will be the first day off of the detox = and I'm supposed to eat "lightly" - So I'll be praying not to shovel food in my face.
These are my confessions! What are yours?
Is one of them that you missed me?

SOS - Just Checking In - HI!!!!

I'm here - just - buried under paper - hoping to be done by Friday -
Send me energy - Send me focus - Send chocolate -

So without further ado..

My Confessions am procrastinating on proof reading - AGAIN... and will do so all week - because I hate it so. With that said, I think I still should be able to get most of it done by Friday - it's a good goal, at least.

The spelling test did in fact come home last night - and it had TWO grades on it. The first grade was the spelling of the actual words on the list and the second grade had to do with sentence structure and correctness., you read that write, without properly preparing them for what was coming - the teacher read them 3 sentences which encompassed MOST of the spelling words - and some others - and had the 2nd graders WRITE THEM. I have a major issue with this; well actually major issues. Please forgive me, if any of you are teachers, I am not condemning your kind - just this one in particular. The teacher sends home a letter with the graded spelling test - "This is what you should expect from a spelling test". I'm sorry, shouldn't this letter have come home BEFORE the test? So that, I don't know, maybe the students could be properly prepared? No - that sounds silly *SARCASM* Emry did well on the spelling of the List Words - but got 2 out of 4 on sentence structure. He has never been asked to write full sentences before the beginning of this year - and trying to test a small child - in a large group - on their listening comprehension - is asinine. Yeah, maybe the second marking period - but the 2nd week of school? Without proper notice? You got to be joking me. But, I digress. Now that we know what to expect - a little late mind you - I will be quizzing Emry on the spelling words by reading him sentences containing them. *Twitch* *Twitch* night, we skipped karate, so I could come home - get some required housework done, and so Emry could decompress. Last week he was engaged for 6 out of the 7 days - rapid fire schedule - no relaxation - So, I figured one day off, would be in his benefit! may have had loaded tater tots for dinner last night - they may have had a couple spoonfuls of Salsa, a slice of cheese and some spicy seasonings - they may have - and totally were delicious. I have no regrets. confess that I secretly hate other mothers - I really do. Just because I'm a mom - doesn't mean we are going to be bosom buddies. Just because our kids are on the same soccer team, and we both send them to after school activities - does not mean they're going to be best friends either. If they chose to be - then fine - but, I am not pushing my son on anyone - especially when he tells me how this kid laughs at others - and says things that hurts peoples feelings. Nope - she may be cute and cuddly on the outside to her mother - but all the kids see her for the bully she is. Sorry not Sorry - no playdates from this mom.

There is a bread buffet in our break room - of fresh baked breads from the local bakery - It smells delicious - I just want to eat ALL of it. am totally rocking my winter suede boots with fur trim today - They are comfy - and warm. And my legs appreciate them - especially since I could see my breath while pumping my gas this morning.

I'm sorry - I saw my breath this morning - WHY IS IT THIS COLD? Jeez louise - Mother nature, get your $#!T together - either it's WARM or COLD - none of this Freezing mornings - Hot Afternoon bull$#!ts - Don't make me come find you! brake checked this loser who was riding my butt this morning during the commute - There is traffic moron - give me a little distance - Oh wait - I can help you with that - Do you need me to find you an extra pair of pants? Because I know you totally soiled yourself after I scared you with my brake lights. I'm not even sorry - not a little bit- If I can see the plaque on your grimy yellow teeth - you are DRIVING TOO CLOSE TO ME.

These are my confessions! What are yours?
Happy Wednesday!
